SavicLabs Instagram Downloader

Download Instagram videos straight to your Photos

One-time setup (~2 min). Then one-tap downloads forever.

1Copy the code

Tap the button below. It copies the shortcut code to your clipboard.

✅ Copied! Now do step 2.

2Open Shortcuts app & create shortcut

Open the Shortcuts app → tap + (top right) → tap "Add Action".

Search for and add these 3 actions one by one:

Action 1 of 3: Run JavaScript on Web Page

Search for JavaScript → tap "Run JavaScript on Web Page".

You'll see a text box with placeholder code. Tap inside it, select all (or delete everything), then long-press → Paste the code you copied in step 1.

Action 2 of 3: Get Contents of URL

Tap "Add Action" again → search for Get Contents → tap "Get Contents of URL".

Inside this action, you'll see a blue "URL" word. Tap it. The keyboard appears — don't type anything. Instead, look above the keyboard for a small blue pill icon (variable picker). Tap it → tap "Run JavaScript on Web Page" from the list.

💡 This connects the video URL from the JavaScript to the download action. The blue "URL" text should change to "Run JavaScript on Web Page".

Action 3 of 3: Save to Photos

Tap "Add Action" again → search for Save → tap "Save to Photos" (on older iOS: "Save to Photo Album").

Don't change anything inside it. Just add it.

3Enable Share Sheet

Now make it show up in Safari's Share menu:

1. Tap the title at the top → type Download IG Video
2. Tap the ⓘ button at the very bottom of the screen
3. Turn ON "Show in Share Sheet"
4. Tap "Receive" (appears after turning on Share Sheet)
5. Scroll down the list and tap "Safari web page"
6. Tap Done → tap Done again

You're done! To download a video:

1. Open instagram.com in Safari (log in first if you haven't)
2. Open a reel/video post
3. Tap the Share button at the bottom of Safari (box with ↑ arrow)
4. Scroll down → tap "Download IG Video"
5. Video saves to your Photos! 🎉
⚠️ Having trouble?

"Conversion error: URL to Safari web page"
→ In Receive settings, uncheck "URL". Only check "Safari web page". Make sure you share from inside Safari, not by long-pressing a link.

Shortcut not in Share Sheet?
→ Tap Share → scroll to bottom → tap "Edit" → toggle "Download IG Video" ON → Done.

Nothing happens when I run it
→ Make sure you're logged into instagram.com in Safari. The Instagram app doesn't share its login with Safari.
